When I first came to Thailand and asked to purchase one, the Thai I was with said it was a native orchid and they were not supposed to be taken from the jungles/forests.
But they are everywhere, no not exactly rare.
This is actually around 20 plants clinging onto a narly 3 foot board. The board will make it easier to take care of (absorbs water).
I can usually walk away from orchids but this show of yellow was too much for me.
And as I’d bitten the bullet, I went ahead and bought four Paph. barbatums.
My dear Canadian friend (who is leaving soon) will now bring all her orchids over for me to care for.
Cat did you buy it? Any idea of the name? The flowers look paper like.
Mike, I believe it’s a Dendrobium.
