Hi Betta. Yes, I was as close to the tigers as I was to the door handles in Lucca. Close enough to pull their tails and play with them :-)

Like the doorknobs, I was limited to how close I could get by my lens. If I got too close, then the lens would not focus, so I did have to keep to some distance.

Being close to the tigers was not a worry, as I had a tiger handler close by at all times. Actually, there were more handlers than there were of us. They were brilliant.

Awesome shot! I can’t think how actually -playing- with the tigers can be! Wouldn’t want to playfully wind up under one of their claws… But, tell me something, were you so close to that tiger as you were shooting some of those door handles in Lucca? ;)

Hi Lx. This is my second Tiger Temple visit. My first time was during their afternoon program. In the morning program there are only 10-12 tourists with that many more tigers. You get to feed, walk (they walk you actually), play, and shampoo tigers. It is a bit more expensive but well worth it.

Wonderful! I can’t believe it’s taken you this long to get to Kanchanaburi. Such a fantastic experience to be surrounded by so many beautiful creatures. I imagine you were in Kitty Heaven.

The odd thing was, the tigers were mostly ignoring the people. If something moved, they were interested. That tiger being fed was looking around at everything but that hand feeding it.

There was only one point where I saw real determination from a tiger, in the direction of a tourist. I was sitting behind her so I had a front row seat.
